FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: APRIL 2012
Big Reptile Network is the largest, most comprehensive online directory for reptile buyers, sellers, breeders, service providers and enthusiasts to do business and connect as a community.
From Big Reptile Network:
“We have partnered with The Sticky Tongue Project, which addresses biodiversity, conservation, and wildlife news and issues with a focus on reptiles and amphibians. This partnership will allow us to enhance the reptile stories, images, videos and news available for reptile enthusiasts to gather and share. As the place for reptile breeders, hobbyists, owners and retailers to connect, buy, sell and learn, we couldn’t be more enthusiastic about having The Sticky Tongue Project on board, and about the enhancements that the partnership will bring to our site.
The Sticky Tongue Project joins our growing reptile network that includes reptile shows and event listings, a comprehensive reptile questions and answers database, classifieds, deals and blogs – all available for free.
Our reptile event section keeps all upcoming reptile shows, expos, fairs and society meetings organized and easy to search. We’ve gathered all the dates and contact information for reptile events that feature reptiles and invertebrates on the West coast, the East coast and everywhere in between to create a full event calendar.
The classified section features live snakes, lizards, turtles, tortoises, amphibians, frogs, toads and salamanders, as well as cages and reptile supplies, posted by reptile breeders and sellers. The classifieds also allow reptile buyers to list live reptiles and reptile supplies that they would like to find and purchase. From reptile breeders to reptile service providers, the classifieds section is the best way to target and reach reptile enthusiasts.
We post all the recent reptile news and advances in our blog and article section, keeping reptile enthusiasts up-to-date on the most important and entertaining information on amphibians and invertebrates.
Our answers section is the place for new and current reptile owners to go to ask questions about their reptile’s habitat, health, diet and more. Reptile questions can be asked by any visitor, without charge, and will be answered by other retile enthusiasts and experts. Find the answers you need at www.ReptileFAQ.com.
Big Reptile Network also offers deals from the biggest live reptile and supply retailers, as well as a ratings and review section that allow reptile enthusiasts to research reptile businesses, sellers, supplies and products.
Advertising opportunities and our press release section are great resources that help reptile breeders and businesses reach more people with important reptile information. Contact us to find an advertising solution for your business.
Don’t forget to check out all the resources in our reptile network, including Reptile Laws and our Reptile Conservation efforts. Our reptile law database, www.ReptileLaws.com, is committed to providing you with the resources you need to determine the most current reptile laws in your state. Simply go to the state you’re interested in and you will find links to applicable reptile laws, relevant lists and information in PDF form, and more.
SaveTheReptiles.org was created in an effort to make sure that more small rescues and conservation efforts are exposed to grant opportunities. By helping to fund conservation organizations, we are able to lobby the government to make educated choices about decisions they make. If it is a ban on pythons in Florida, or reptiles in general in Ohio, your donation can help our voice carry weight. We will begin accepting grant submission on June 15th, 2012 for non-political, conservation minded organizations. Visit www.SaveTheReptiles.org now to contribute your donation, and check back in June 2012 to access the grant form.
Stayed tuned for more exciting reptile resources from Big Reptile Network, including a Marketplace for reptile breeders, buyers and sellers, and an ePublishing program for reptile enthusiasts.”

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: FEBRUARY 2012
The Sticky Tongue Project is pleased to announce a new partner and sponsor coming on board: Remote Viewing Media! We are extremely excited about this new relationship and are looking forward to both moving forward and expanding both of our audiences and content in 2012!
Remote Viewing Media was originally founded in 2009 and has been set up as a small and independent media production project. So far it has produced several pod casts, most notably the ‘BroadCast’ pod cast which centered around the world of entertainment and the arts. More recently, is the launch of ‘This Week in Nature’ or ‘TWiN’, which is supported by the Sticky Tongue Project and Tim Neary’s Nature Journal.
Audio is something which is always being developed, with several new projects planned and other small audio projects already released. These have ranged from short poems and dramatic features, through to relaxation audio.
Video is something that continues to grow, with channels on both YouTube and Vimeo. There are even video versions of podcasts originally broadcast as audio. This is an area which will grow and develop significantly, with plans to explore this deeper.
The name ‘Remote Viewing Media’ (RVM) has nothing to do with remote viewing, which is the practice of seeking impressions about a distant or unseen target using paranormal means, in particular, ESP or “sensing with mind”. The idea came from the concept that the output from RVM can be listened to, or viewed over some distance; worldwide in fact.
So, okay, what does Remote Viewing Media do?
Video: In house video production, including animation and other audio visual productions. External contracts and collaborations.
Audio: In house recordings, including pod casts and other audio based products. External contracts and collaborations.
Voice Work: Providing voice over services to other media producers, namely the Sticky Tongue Project. We also promote and distribute content from partnered media producers.
Collaboration and cross promotion is at the heart of RVM, which is a practical way of networking and disseminating work as wide as possible. We have some very proud associations and strong working relationships with several other media producers, including the Sticky Tongue Project and Tim Nearyʼs Nature Journal. You can find out more about these on our ʻPartnersʼ page. This has been
traditionally been via the primary use of social networks and uses the growth in social media as an growing marketing tool.
The work continues with future plans to monitise this into a small business but until then.
Three words: Content Content Content
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: FEBRUARY 2012
This past week, we have started to roll out some major changes to how the site looks and works.
This redesign is the first major launch of many this year as we get ready to expand the reach and the focus of both The Sticky Tongue Project and The Herparazzi. We are working on some really exciting developments, which will be showcased on this newly designed website shortly!
We set out to accomplish four main things with this website redesign:
- Creating a fresh website that better showcases the range of content we offer.
- Prominent promotion of our video series: The Herparazzi.
- Making it easier for our visitors to talk about and share our wildlife, biodiversity and conservation posts.
- Making it easier and faster for our visitors to find our great content.
We have tried to do this in a way that makes the site easier to use for the over 1/4 of a million people from around the world who have visited the site over the past year.
But we know that, initially at least, the site will take a bit of getting used to. Please feel free to drop us a line if you find anything confusing.
We have spent a lot of time talking to our visitors to make sure we get this redesign right and the most consistent piece of feedback we received pertaining to the old site was that it was hard to navigate.
The major difference you will probably notice right away is that we have moved from a vertical navigation approach to a horizontal one with the sections listed across the top of every page and along the bottom of each page, instead of down the sides. Moving to a horizontal navigation also gives us a wider page to work with, which means more room for our great content, including larger photos and videos.
In order to make the navigation easy to use, we wanted to limit the number of items in the primary navigation menu to help people make quick choices about where they wanted to get to. Visitors can easily choose from more specific categories via the footer and the search feature found at the bottom of the pages as well.
People who use our site regularly have their own ways of getting around it and we are confident that people will be able to find new and easier ways to the content they want, when they want it. We have shown the new site to users and watched again as they have found their way around the new site easily and naturally.
We knew we wouldn’t be able to change the entire site all at one time so again we concentrated our efforts on the sections that are most used by our visitors. We will also be redesigning and adding other sections in the coming months – stay tuned for the official announcements!
Change will also come a lot quicker from now on. We will release new features regularly to the site, so the site will continuously evolve and change, hopefully in a way that is not to disruptive for our visitors.
We have made some bold design decisions as a result of exhaustive audience research and we are really proud of the new site.
Now that it has gone live we welcome your suggestions as to how the site could be fine-tuned in specific areas as well as general comments and reactions to the new design. Please let us know your thoughts.
All your feedback will be used to help inform the decisions we make about how best to fine-tune the new-look site as The Sticky Tongue Project and The Herparazzi moves through 2012 and beyond.

The Sticky Tongue Project is proud to announce our first sponsor!
Since w’ere planning on travelling to several exotic locations around the world in the upcoming season, we need extra equipment to be used in our search for critters.
In some areas, you would rather not flip logs and rocks with your bare hands because you just don’t know what is hiding underneath. It could have fangs!
Therefore, we are excited to announce that Slangenhaken.nl will be manufacturing and donating a set of customized snake hooks out of high-grade materials, for us to use out in the field. Thank you!
