Life in the third reich daily life in nazi germany 1933 1945 by paul roland is an interesting look at the everyday life of a german citizen in the years following adolph hitlers rise to power right off let me say how chilling some of the events in this book are in light of what is happening in the united states right now july 2018. Yet in the shadows of everyday life in nazi germany horror became quotidian government officials indoctrinated children as school curriculums were shifted to push the radical new political agenda propaganda films took over classrooms and teachers who stepped out of line risked being reported. This is not a serious study of daily life in the third reich it does have an interesting interview with a woman called eycke strickland who came from an anti nazi family but it is generally a scissors and paste job using excerpts from books on the third reich without any real sense of context or narrative development. Life in the third reich daily life in nazi germany 1933 1945 paul roland publication library call number dd2565 r54653 2016 germany was a deeply divided nation when adolf hitler and the nazi party came to power in 1933
